BOTSWANA AIRPORTS & AIRSTRIPS

There are two major airports in Botswana. The first, Sir Seretse Khama International is about 15 km northwest from the capital, Gaborone. Buses do not usually ply the route between Gaborone city and the airport but visitors can take taxis and some hotels offer pick-up service as alternative transportation. This airport is equipped for luggage shrink wrap, banks, food outlets, post office, duty free stores and car rentals. The second, Maun International Airport is less than a kilometer’s walk from Maun town center. Direct flights from Namibia and South Africa are available here and cater to those travelling to Okavango Delta, Chobe, Linyanti and other safari reserves. The main modes of transportation are taxis and buses. Cars hire services are available at the airport. The airport lounge also has internet facilities.

There are also other towns with their own airports, some of which are listed as follows: Francistown, Ghanzi, Gumare, Hukuntsi, Jwaneng, Kang, Kanye, Kasane, Khwai River, Lobatse, Makalamabedi, Maun, Nata, Nokaneng, Orapa, Palapye, Rakops, Selebi-Phikwe, Serowe, Shakawe, Sua Pan, Suvati, Tshabong, Tshane, Tuli Lodge and Xugana.
