Kanana Mokoro Trail is experienced close to Xudum River in the southwest Okavango Delta. The Kanana Mokoro Trail package is a specially-designed Mokoro experience, allowing visitors a unique opportunity to search for rarely seen creatures such as the sitatunga and Pel’s Fishing Owl. One of the special attractions of this program is its exclusivity and flexibility. The Kanana Mokoro Trail accommodates a maximum of four people in two twin-bedded tents, and the camp includes the services of a professional guide, a personal chef, waiter, housekeeper and dedicated Mokoro guide.

Hosting a maximum of four guests at a time, Kanana Mokoro Trail offers a personal safari experience making it an ideal option for small groups of friends or family. Fly or spin fishing is available throughout the year (with the exception of January and February), with excellent bream fishing from May to September and superb chances of landing Tiger fish during September to mid- November.

Activities At Kanana Mokoro Trail

The focus of the Kanana Mokoro Trail is to traverse the Okavango Delta in a Mokoro (traditional canoe). Your guide will pole you peacefully through one of the most remote areas of the Okavango Delta in search of the elusive sitatunga. Guests will gain a detailed understanding of this diverse environment, which features some of the Okavango Delta’s true gems such as red lechwe (antelope), fish eagles, painted reed frogs, golden orb spiders and malachite kingfishers. Walks can also be taken on small islands where Pel’s Fishing Owl is known to nest.
