SEROWE IN BOTSWANA
The beautiful village of Serowe is situated in the central district of Botswana, at the west of Gaborone and Francistown road. It is about 250 kilometres from Gaborone. Serowe is the capital town of the central district since 1903 to this day. It is renowned for being the second largest village in Botswana.
It has been home and a refuge to one of the tribes in Botswana, the Ngwato people. The Ngwato originated from the Old Palapye and migrated in Serowe in 1902. This migration coincided with the time King Khama took his residence in Serowe.
